Launch of MS Society Scotland Edinburgh City branch
Wednesday 28th July 2010
The MS Society is delighted to announce that the first meeting of the Edinburgh City MS Society Scotland branch will be taking place on Wednesday 28 July. The meeting will be from 5.30pm for tea and coffee, with a start time of 6pm and a finishing time of 7pm. The venue, LifeCare in Stockbridge, is fully wheelchair accessible with a limited number of parking spaces. The meeting will be in the St Bernards Club room, accessible via the car park. This map shows the bus stops in relation to the venue.
Historically there have been various branches covering different parts of Edinburgh, however there will now be a single branch for the whole of Edinburgh City. The West Lothian branch will continue to cover the western area which includes EH30, EH47, EH49, EH52, EH53, EH54 and EH55. The Lothian branch will continue to support those living in East and Mid Lothian.
The Edinburgh branch will need a committee to govern its activities. At the meeting on July 28, Area Development Officer Catherine Myles will be taking applications for Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Secretary, Communications Officer and other committee positions. If you cannot attend the meeting but would be interested in knowing more about committee work, and perhaps applying for a position, please contact her for more information on 0131 445 3050.
If you would like to attend the meeting please email her at c.myles@mssocietyscotland.org.uk. If you cannot attend but would like to know what the branch is working on, please keep an eye on the Edinburgh branch website.
The second branch committee meeting will be held on Wednesday 25 August, at the same time and venue.
This is an exciting time to volunteer with the MS Society and everyone is welcome to participate. We look forward to seeing the branch grow and expand to make a valuable difference to the lives of Edinburgh people affected by MS.

Rivals 4 Charity
It is with regret that we announce that the Rivals 4 Charity football match between Hearts and Hibs has been postponed to 2011. Your votes in December were not wasted, however - we will still be the charity that benefits, but not this year!
